I will never abandon the child that I once was and I’m still afraid that someone might abuse him. That’s why I’m a survivor who smells an item of clothing before putting it on to check that it doesn’t smell of abuse, and that the toys that I buy aren’t stained with the sweat of abused children that would sour my enjoyment. The child who doesn’t leave my side knows that there are other children who aren’t as lucky.
