"made in Green" is a registered mark. It is always necessary to check that the certificate number and the name of the Certifying Institute are present on the label.
The Association of Textile Industry Research, AITEX, is a private non-profit making body and is the proprietor of the mark "made in Green" in 25 countries of the European Union, and it is ultimately responsible for certification and for ensuring that the certificates and labelled products in the market are genuine. AITEX is able to license other centres to issue the "made in Green" certification.
A company may certify "made in Green" for a single product, one or various product families or for a complete range of products.
